Bathroom Renovation Contractor

A New Jersey bathroom remodeling contractor who waterproofs before he tiles

Newpro Construction is a design-build general contractor specializing in bathroom remodeling for New Jersey homeowners. We handle everything a bathroom renovation touches — demolition, framing, plumbing, electrical, ventilation, waterproofing, tile, vanities, and glass — with one project manager coordinating every trade so you are never chasing four different phone numbers.

Most bathroom remodels fail behind the tile, not in front of it. A shower pan sloped wrong, a missing waterproof membrane, or an undersized exhaust fan will cost you the whole room in five years. We build every wet area to current code with a tested pan and a full membrane before a single tile goes up.

Whether you want a powder room refreshed over a long weekend or a master bath gutted and reconfigured with a curbless shower, you get a written scope and a fixed price before demolition starts — and a realistic answer about how long you will be down a bathroom.

Timeline

How long will my bathroom be out of service?

Most of our bathroom remodels run three to six weeks on site after permits and material delivery. Here is where that time actually goes.

Before day 1

Design, permits, material order

Tile, vanity, and custom glass are the long lead items — typically 2 to 6 weeks.

Week 1

Demolition & rough-in

Room gutted to studs, plumbing and electrical relocated, exhaust vent run, inspections scheduled.

Week 2

Waterproofing & flood test

Shower pan sloped, membrane applied, then a 24-hour flood test before any tile.

Weeks 3–4

Tile & vanity set

Floor and shower tile installed and grouted, vanity and top set, fixtures roughed in.

Weeks 4–6

Glass, trim & punch list

Frameless glass templated and installed, trim and paint finished, punch list closed.

Common questions

Bathroom remodeling FAQ

Most of our hall and guest bath renovations land between $22,000 and $35,000. Powder rooms start near $9,000, and master baths with a tile shower, glass, and double vanity typically run $38,000 to $65,000.

Three to six weeks on site once permits are approved and materials are on hand. Custom frameless glass adds about two weeks because it is templated after the tile is finished.

Yes, and most of our clients do. We contain dust, protect the path to the room, and give you a firm date for when the toilet and shower go back in service.

In a primary bath, usually yes — a larger tile shower is what most buyers want. We recommend keeping at least one tub in the house if you have young children or plan to sell.

A properly sloped pan, a full waterproof membrane over walls and floor, and a 24-hour flood test before any tile is set. That test is standard on every Newpro shower.

Yes. We pull township building, plumbing, and electrical permits and schedule every inspection as part of our scope.

Often yes — attics, basements, and closets can work if drains, venting, and headroom allow. We check feasibility at the walkthrough before you spend money on design.
